Bun B’s new album Trill O.G. is being release this Tuesday. This album will be an instant classic, and I already know that it won’t ever be leaving one of the six CD slots in my Range Rover. Features include Drake, Trey Songz, Tupac, Yo Gotti, Gucci Mane, T-Pain, Young Jeezy, Twista, Raekwon and Slim Thug. Make sure you support the artists and BUY this one. Check out this recent interview with Fader TV to hear all about the album from the man himself.

This is his 3rd solo studio album, therefor Trill O.G. is also a play on the word Trilogy. Get it?

Drake x Nardwuar.

If you’re viewing this from Canada then you are probably already familiar with Nardwuar. If not, he is a television and radio personality known for his sometimes awkward interviews and extremely unique personality. Drake was recently in Vancouver to perform and sat down with Nardwuar in the studio for this extremely entertaining interview. I have had the chance to meet Nardwuar several times and all I can say is that there is NOBODY like him. Watch this.

“This is the best interview I’ve ever done in my entire life.” -Drake

Calvin Ayre.

My longtime friend Sharad Khare recently interviewed (my uncle) Calvin Ayre, the founder of Bodog, while he was briefly in Vancouver. You may remember way back when I posted these photos from a party I hosted at his Yaletown penthouse last summer. Well… on top of an awesome interview, this video also has a mini tour of the place. Take a look and take a listen.

Interview With DJ B-Do.

I decided to record a Skype chat with my homie Bradley Davis aka DJ B-Do. I asked him a bunch of questions that I already knew the answer to while he was eating a plate of chicken and rice – needless to say this was totally casual, but I thought y’all might be interested in getting this look from behind the scenes. If you aren’t already familiar with the dude, he has produced for Pimp C, Bun B of UGK, Lupe Fiasco, Scarface, Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Yo Gotti, Short Dawg, E-40 & more! He actually produced the single Countin’ Money of the forthcoming Bun B album Trill OG – which will be released on August 3rd, 2010.

New Drake Interview.

Drake’s new album Thank Me Later, which is scheduled to be released June 15, leaked the other day. I won’t post the link because I want you all to go BUY it in stores like I will be doing. However, I have to admit, I did download it and have listened to it front to back about ten times now. It is a fairly soft album with no real “bangers” but I do really enjoy it and am totally satisfied. Check out this recent interview with Drake that the.LIFE Files did, he comments on the leak.

I have been listening to A LOT of Wiz Khalifa lately – I’m really liking his music right now! Check out this recent interview… Mr. Peter Parker chops it up with Wiz Khalifa about Soundset, Kush and Orange Juice, his new “weed name” and beef with Jae Millz.

Felix Cartal.

Just over a month ago, Felix Cartal played his album release party in Montreal. I was scheduled to be in attendance and had lined up on on-camera interview with him so that I could share his thoughts with all of my dope viewers. I ended up making a last minute trip to Vancouver to check out the Winter Olympics so I wasn’t able to follow through on that as the timing didn’t work in the end. Fortunately, Felix was cool enough to email me over his answers to some of my questions. Read below to check out our interview.

Felix Cartal.

Over recent years as DJ’s have turned into “rock stars” of their own, everyone seems to want to be one. How did you get your start and how did you separate yourself from the countless others?
I caught a break early on with a few DJ’s and blogs getting interested in some of my earliest work. I think the fact that I didn’t understand dance music as much helped me unintentionally create something more innovative at the time. From there networking and making friends helped me get my foot in the door with the right people.

You come from Canada – but have obviously traveled the world extensively. Are there any major differences between the nightlife scene in Canada and say, the USA (or anywhere else in the world) ?

North America and Europe have a different feel for sure, where as dance music is relatively new in popularity in North America, it’s been prominent in Europe for a long time. Examples like Chemical Brothers climbing the charts don’t necessarily happen here, so I feel the clubbing scene in North America feels a bit more like a trend. Both places have amazing parties though, the nightlife is great everywhere right now.

You just released the album, “Popular Music” – tell me about the creation process behind this and how long did it take?
The songs were written over the course of a year or so. The biggest struggle for me was finding a balance between club tracks and songs with more of a verse-chorus structure. I wanted to make sure there was something on the record for people who don’t go to the club all the time and vice-versa. I probably wrote about 30-40 rough song ideas for the record and I narrowed it down to the 12 that felt right together as a whole.

You are also currently on the “Popular Music” world tour – tell me a bit about life on the road, and what are some of your favorite places to go?
It can be a bit hectic traveling all the time but I’m adjusting to it a little bit more every time I’m out. I’m into trying new foods so traveling permits me to do that a lot, Canada lacks great mexican food so anywhere down south is great for that. Also the Martino sandwich in Belgium is a new favourite of mine. Hmmm I’m not sure how I turned this into a cuisine question…

What can we expect from you in the future? What’s next after this tour?
A release later this year with my friend Keatch from Belgium on a great European label. Then traveling to Europe in May and Australia in June.

Woodwork Video.

I told you it would be worth the wait – and it fucking was! I just saw this myself for the first time not too long ago and am really impressed. Expect videos of this quality from me – from now on. I did this as a collaboration with MWTB as they supplied to cameraman & amazing editing skills – I also guest blog over there sometimes so check it out! The party was crazy and this footage really captures that… I actually suggest watching it in full screen mode! Enjoy.
All of the interviews were too long to include in this clip so expect 3 additional videos for those within the next few days.

Nardwuar vs. Snoop Dogg.

Check out this recent interview with Snoop Dogg done by Canadian TV personality Nardwuar. The interview was filmed in a Vancouver, BC hotel room – with Snoop smoking a blunt the entire time. They actually have good chemistry so it makes for a really fun interview to watch.

I had a meeting with Narwuar once a few years back when I was working in the music business. He is the most unique person I have ever come across – and as quirky as he is, he has an amazing (and sometimes awkward) energy. Too funny.
