Twestival.

Last night I attended the Twestival event in Montreal. Basically this was a Tweetup (Twitter meet-up) that took place in most major cities around the world yesterday to raise money for charity. Shout out to whoever organized it – clearly a lot of effort went into putting it together and there was a lot of entertainment…. including David Usher. HAHA I probably could have died perfectly happy without experiencing that acoustic set though! Anyways yeah – it was sort of like a high school dance but with adults. A super unique crowd made up of every different kind of person imaginable… most of whom were glued to their phones all night Tweeting away. It was interesting to say the least. There was also a HUGE projector screen set up streaming Tweets in real time with the hashtag #twestivalMTL – so I totally abused that and sent out some hilarious messages – if you you follow me on Twitter – now you might understand what I was talking about last night with my random messages! Here are two photos I got from the photo booth they had setup.

Wooooo!

Philanthropy.

I know that I often come off as some sort of rich/spoiled, shallow asshole…. and believe me… I can be. However, philanthropy is something I take very seriously. I feel that if a person has some sort of wealth….whether that be a wealth of knowledge, skills, money or other resources, then they are in a position where they are responsible to help others in need. That is just how the world has to work. Believe me, I have travelled the globe to its limits and seen some very disturbing things in a few of the most poverty stricken regions of the world. Thanks to these experiences I have made it a personal mission to help out in various charitable causes. I have helped build a school for local children in Costa Rica and also a house there for a family in need. I have organized car washes when I was at University in Florida to raise money for charities, I have already donated money and clothing to Haiti and am currently sponsoring a 9 year old boy in Nicaragua through World Vision… among other things. Obviously I am fortunate to be able to help in these ways, but if you are interested in helping make the world a better place….even in any small way, then come out this Friday night to a fashion show for a good cause. Come and stare at sexy models with me and you can go home feeling good about the fact that you did something to be proud of.

Basically, the proceeds from ticket sales will be going to the MIFT organization to help refugee children in the Tamil region of Sri Lanka. Last year they raised $10,000 and they are hoping to double that number this year. Let’s do this people!

My Uncle.

I don’t usually talk about this because I don’t like to keep fake people around me… and this usually attracts people for the wrong reasons. However, today my uncle did something that I am extremely proud of and have to share. Click THIS link to read the article, basically he donated $20,000 to the relief effort in Haiti and challenged people in his industry to donate as well… offering to match their donations up to a million dollars. He is very fortunate to be in the position to do this, and it is thanks to this man that I am fortunate enough to do a lot of the cool shit I do. As for myself, I am donating a bunch of clothing that I no longer wear and I encourage you to do whatever you can to help as well.
