Rihanna x UNICEF – Tap Water.

March 17, 2011  |  Everything Else, Music  |  No Comments

Rihanna has partnered with UNICEF for its Celebrity Tap Project, to educate consumers about the lack of access to safe, clean drinking water for nearly 900 million people worldwide. Each celebrity involved will bottle tap water from their homes for a sweepstakes where entrants can win a limited edition Celebrity Tap Pack, a custom designed case that includes the special celebrity filled bottles. Proceeds will go to UNICEF’s sanitation and clean water programs. A great idea and an even better cause.

Swizz Beatz Is Dead.

November 30, 2010  |  Everything Else, Music  |  No Comments

Tomorrow, celebrities like Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Swizz Beatz, Kim Kardashian, Usher, Diddy, and Jay Sean will be committing “social suicide” to help raise a million dollars for the Keys Keep a Child Alive foundation. In an attempt to help people affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India, the celebs will temporarily stop using their various social networking profiles. This “digital death” is definitely an interesting way to raise awareness. Thanks to Rap-Up for the image.

Snoop Dogg x Cup With A Cause.

Snoop is definitely the most charitable OG in the game, so it makes perfect sense that he recently became the fourth designer for 7-11′s charitable Coffee Cup With A Cause program. Twenty cents from each cup purchased will be donated to his youth football league. Check this video from his in-store announcement.

Twestival.

March 26, 2010  |  Events, Everything Else  |  1 Comment

Last night I attended the Twestival event in Montreal. Basically this was a Tweetup (Twitter meet-up) that took place in most major cities around the world yesterday to raise money for charity. Shout out to whoever organized it – clearly a lot of effort went into putting it together and there was a lot of entertainment…. including David Usher. HAHA I probably could have died perfectly happy without experiencing that acoustic set though! Anyways yeah – it was sort of like a high school dance but with adults. A super unique crowd made up of every different kind of person imaginable… most of whom were glued to their phones all night Tweeting away. It was interesting to say the least. There was also a HUGE projector screen set up streaming Tweets in real time with the hashtag #twestivalMTL – so I totally abused that and sent out some hilarious messages – if you you follow me on Twitter – now you might understand what I was talking about last night with my random messages! Here are two photos I got from the photo booth they had setup.

I met a lot of cool people last night – hopefully some of them start reading my blog from now on! Word.

Help Haiti.

January 14, 2010  |  Everything Else  |  No Comments

Today my uncle did something that I am extremely proud of and have to share. Click THIS link to read the article, basically he donated $20,000 to the relief effort in Haiti and challenged people in his industry to donate as well… offering to match their donations up to a million dollars. He is very fortunate to be in the position to do this, and it is thanks to this man that I am fortunate enough to do a lot of the cool shit I do. As for myself, I am donating a bunch of clothing that I no longer wear and I encourage you to do whatever you can to help as well.
